Gaye
holud (Bengali: গায়ে হলুদ gaee holud it. "yellow/turmeric on the
body") or turmeric ceremony is a ceremony seen mostly in the region of
Bengal (comprising Bangladesh and Indian West Bengal). It is part of an elongate series of celebrations constituting the Bengali wedding. The
gaye holud takes place 1-2 (one or two) days prior to the religious and
legal wedding ceremonies.
গায়ে হলুদ (Gaye Holud) বাঙালি সংস্কৃতির বহুল প্রচলিত উৎসব গুলোর মধ্যে একটি। এটি একটি বাঙালি উৎসব (বাংলাদেশ এবং ভারতের পশ্চিম বাংলায় এই অনুষ্ঠানটি বেশি পালন করা হয়। বিয়ের অনুষ্ঠানকে কেন্দ্র করে
গায়ে হলুদ পর্বটি অনুষ্ঠিত। তাই বিয়ের এক বা দুই দিন আগেই গায়ে হলুদ (Gaye Holud) অনুষ্ঠানটি করা হয়ে থাকে।
এই অনুষ্ঠানে গেট সাজানো হয় এবং গায়ে হলুদের স্টেজ বানানো হয়। সেখানে গায়ে হলুদের ব্যানার (Gaye Holud Banner) বা পোষ্টার টানানো থাকে। গায়ে হলুদের কিছু ডিজাইন এখানে পোস্ট করা হল।
